This was a spur of the moment show for the branch but a really good addition to our calendar. Although the weather wasn't glorious it was still perfect for relaxing and there was no risk of sun-stroke... perfect polishing weather really.
Elvin & Corina joined Jaff & I as we travelled to Bude, we met Brian and family on the outskirts so we could arrive all together in a mini XR convoy.
The organisors were very organised and got us where they wanted us in no time. Along with the good weather there was also a great atmosphere; everyone was milling around, chatting and just relaxing.
We did not expect the variety of vehicles that were on display both in standard and rariety and I must admit I did fall in love with a few cars there (I might have even started obsessing about them a little).
Jaff had the shock of his life near the end of the day; while we were relaxing in front of the XRs one of the organisors summoned him (with his XR4x4) to the main marquee. It turns out he got second place in the class of vehicles from 1973 and up, only to have been beaten by a Lister... amazing!!!
The best thing for the rest of us was the look on his face when he realised he was going to get a microphone thrust at him to talk to the crowd, definitely a Kodak moment. It was a brilliant end to a great day and we definitely want to schedule this show in again next year.
