Ford Fair 2009
Finally the weekend we had all been waiting for had arrived... Ford Fair!!

This year was a strange one as we only taking Loz's car. "The Mistress" wasn't ready so she was staying at home.
After a few manic phone calls a meeting place was arranged so that tickets could be handed out.
We arrived at the agreed services to see a very silent XR4i with several sleeping bodies inside, a gentle knock on the window soon had Brian, Martin & Shelbie back in the land of the living (after we took a few photos of course). Rob & Laura were also there already in their XR3i, they were grinning away as we took our sleepy snaps.
Soon Nigel and Marcia joined us, as the whole car park got boxed in by a Mondeo driver who abandoned his car to get a coffee.

We got to Silverstone in good time and had the pleasure of blatting through the tunnel under Copse with the windows fully open of course.
The stand was more spacious than normal which was brilliant, once all the cars had arrived (about 60 in all) and the flags were erected the stand looked top notch.

The bonus prize goes to Toby and Emma who arrived in style as always. This time it was in a cloud of steam after the heater matrix burst!!! One of these days they will just turn up an park the car! Hee hee.

We got lucky with the weather again and had a bright sunny day with no rain, in fact, by the end of the day a few of us were even a little burnt.

A special mention has to go to Abi, although it isn't finished yet she managed to get her XR4x4 back in time for the show. Patience and persistence finally paying off. It did look fantastic parked next to Marcs XR3i Cab.
After getting the car tidied up we headed out for a look round the traders and other club stands. Loz managed to find some brand new original ford dials for her car for the bargain price of £16 and for the first time I didn't spend a penny on anything for mine (got loads coming up though so don't worry).
All in all we had a fantastic day and it was great to catch up with so many old friends and meet some new ones for the first time. Cheers to all the members that made it to the show an put on such a good display of cars, including on the track and sprint.

See you all next year!!
