Our first meet after show season was always going to be a relaxed get together, with little to plan for. We met in the car park of the Alpine lodge and got a few photos taken as the light faded and the rain threatened to move in.

We moved up to the bar and got settled at a table in the corner. While ordering drinks we stood chatting about the pros & cons of XRs. My attention was soon grabbed by three gentlemen stood beside us who were also mentioning the same model. What a fantastic suprise, they were there to see us!! We heard about the XR4x4 they'd found and bought off a farmer for a very good price... its future now lies in its bodywork. If its solid it will hopefully be joining us at a few shows in the future. Its a project I'd love to watch develop.

We did discuss what shows we knew about already for next year, future meets & current projects. Also we all agreed that this year has been a fantastic success, leaving us hungry for more next year.
We talked about work we planned to carry out over the winter... new tailgate, making a certain cabriolet watertight, making red paintwork red again... you propably know the drill.
Elvin had brought a few photo albums of his classics he's collected and the progress they're making.
I must admit that flipping through them has left me a little in awe.

Food came and the table suddenly got quieter... only for as long as the all day breakfasts lasted though. After all that we just had idle chit chat, having a good giggle and watching Rob try to drink his slush puppy mix without getting brain freeze.

Not much else to fill you in on at the moment so I'll just leave you with a few photos of our evening.
