Ok, this is me. My name is Laura (or Loz to my mates). I'm a Devonshire lass born & raised. I used to work in the car industry as a service advisor so petrol is definately in my blood. I have always wanted an XR, I even remember playing with my XR matchbox Escort Cab as a child.
I enjoy going to the shows and having a laugh, I have made so many good friends through the club.
I enjoy driving immensely, I quite often go out for a drive just for the sake of it.
I must admit though in 2007 I had my first taste of being on the track... and I liked it. I deffinately hope to have my 2i back on the track again & put her through her paces, such a rush!!
I started out with a white XR2i which I had for a couple of years then moved on to my Mercury Grey one. I wouldnt dream of moving on to another now though. I joke that I'd even be burried in her (dont tell anyone I'm actually serious).

This is my H plated XR2i with the 1.6 CVH engine.
She wasnt standard when I bought her. She had a stainless steel exhaust system, a K&N filter, alloy wheels & Morette twin lights.
The alloy wheels were a limited edition OZ design but they were completely the wrong offset & had to go. So I replaced then with TSW Catalunyas.
In the engine bay there was an alloy header tank, rocker cover & brake fluid reservoir but they were causing loads of problems & had to go. I have purple samco hoses fitted as the start of her new colour scheme which is mirrored by the typical blue rub strip trim being changed to a matching purple.
Jaffa & I have been hard at work with the engine bay since I first posted up my profile. Thanks to Simon & Mark (Both members at some point) my girl now has a engine with a genuine 36,000 miles on the clock with a kent vernier Pulley & Fast road cam. They also supplied a superchip which went in to the new setup. I managed to get my hands on a polished inlet manifold which had been chromed.
Once the new engine went in I was able to get all my shiny bits fitted (too many to list seperately here), also a selection of powdercoated goodies including strut braces, rocker cover & fan shroud.
She has had silicone ignition leads fitted and soon to have Nology spark plugs.
I have fitted grey & black Cobra Clubman bucket seats with black momo steering wheel.
Having got a new taste for Sparco goodies I have fitted a new gear knob and am now looking for a replacement (flat bottomed) steering wheel.
The handbrake has now got a Richbrook black leather Ford handle & gaitor on it.
We have finally sorted ot the ride height problem with a full set of Koni shock absorbers and Spax lowering springs.
The front brakes have also been upgraded to EBC drilled & grooved discs with Greenstuff pads.
