RAF Cosford Meet 2010
What an absolutely amazing day!!
Firstly Jaffa & I would like to say thank you to everyone who made to this meet, in total we had just over 40 cars on the day. Thank you also to those who taxed their XR's early just so they could come.
The day was made perfect by amazing weather, blue sky & sunshine, not a single cloud in the sky!

The morning started off with a frosty drive to the museum but as soon as the sun hit the cars they cleared away the white icing.
Once at our venue it got hectic quite fast as cars started to filter in, with Emma & Toby's help they were all put in position with relative ease.

The welcome smell of polish was soon in the air as everybody put the finishing touches to their XR's.

As this event was a meet and not a show of sorts everybody was free to do as they chose, some of us spent the day catching up with old friends and meeting new ones while other members headed off to the museum to have a nosey round and some well earned munchies.
I did have the same discussion with a few members who asked what they needed to do to bring their cars up to show standard, the quick answer is, as long as you have membership & the car is in a safe condition then it is enough. Your XR doesn't have to be a stunner to make the grade, we welcome all.

Yvonne really treated us later in the afternoon when she emerged from the boot of her Cabriolet with tins of cake and the now famous chocolate covered flapjack.
It also seemed to be the day for the specialist XR parts delivery service, it was like watching a swap shop as different bits and pieces changed hands between members.

Snoop wasn't seen without a coffee all day, he insists he only had two but I'm not so sure.
Ryz bore the brunt of the mocking for the day after dropping his alarm fob and shorting it out, resulting in him hitching a lift with another member and leaving his car at home.
Madjarvie's XR2 (Kermit) got a lot of interest as it was the first time it had been seen in the flesh by most of the members. It really is an eye catcher.
Janice's Cabriolet gave us all a challenge when she announce no one had managed to catch the rainbow fleck in a photo yet, to date only a couple of us have now managed it.

I am sure there is much more to write about but I will add more when I have more pictures to add to this page.
